What an exciting time to be a Sound Healer. Sound Healing and the awareness of Sound Healing is rapidly spreading. Here in Boulder, Colorado the Sound Healers Association Members from the Healing Sounds team are celebrating the successful completion of Jonathan Goldman’s 21st Annual Healing Sounds Intensive. In the wake of this remarkable gathering of Sound practitioners we were reminded how much our sonic family is growing.
It is encouraging to see so many luminaries engaging with the power of vibration for positive change. We know SHA is filled with such luminaries. We know you are doing wonderful work with Sound. And we invite you to share it with us.
Tell us your stories and we will publish them in our new SHA newsletter, ‘Sound Reflections: Echoes from the Sound Healing Universe.’ The purpose of this newsletter is to share our experiences with Sound, so that we can learn from one another and together help continue the growth of Sound Healing as a worldwide phenomenon.
We live in an age of innovation and evolution. New instruments are transformed from ethereal to solid, first born from the realms of imagination and conceptualization then fabricated into reality. Likewise new modalities are created on a daily basis. Sound is by its very nature fluid and changing. So naturally the ways we can work with Sound are varied and flexible.
Simultaneously we like to remember that working with Sound as a transformative tool is ancient, and perhaps we’re not doing anything new so much as we are just rediscovering the old ways, finding lost knowledge as we continue our own mysterious journeys.
Please let us know about your activities working with new techniques and old techniques alike. We honor the old made new and the fusion and originality of new blossoming from the old.
The Sound Healers Association has members all across the globe. We come from all sorts of backgrounds and histories, but we are united by our work and our passion for Sound. Let us communicate with each other, and learn from each other, let us touch each other with our Sound. It is through sharing our vibrations that we will strengthen and grow our wonderful Sound Community.
For ‘Sound Reflections: Echoes from the Sound Healing Universe’ all offerings are welcome. You can share the stories of your experiences with Sound, either personal or as a practitioner. Or tell us about your new innovative work with sound. We’d love to hear about your research as you push the envelope of knowledge for all of us. We greatly appreciate your support in the continued evolution of Sound Healing. Pictures are welcomed and encouraged, as are links to videos.
These days we seem to find our planet and ourselves in a difficult situation. Without judgment about why this has occurred, I’d prefer to focus on what could be done to assist this current situation.
Much of what’s going on seems to be a result of what is often called the “footprint of man”-the result of human interaction with each other and with our planet. From this perspective, if we caused it and if we are part of the problem, then we can be part of the solution! Humans are an amazing species and once we become aware of something, we can often focus our attention on it and find a solution. All that may be needed is for a portion of human consciousness to awaken to the reality that there is something that needs to be fixed. The question is: “How does this happen?” How can we as a species begin to become awakened? Read more
There is at present on our planet, a great schism in belief regarding resonant frequency. There are those who believe that yes, we all vibrate to the same frequency, whether it is the vibrational rate of the heart chakra or the vibrational rate of the liver. And many of these are people who believe they have indeed figured out the vibrational rate of the various organs, other bodily parts and etheric fields have invented instruments, made tapes or created machines which will somehow project the correct resonant frequency back in to the body to heal what ails you. Some of these people also work with using the voice, either to determine what frequency needs to be added or as a means of creating the correct resonant frequency. Read more
Many of you who have read my books and other writings, or found yourself listening to or reading an interview with me know that I believe “Intent” is a truly important aspect with regard to the power of sound. You may know that over 20 years ago, I created a formula in my first book HEALING SOUNDS : “Frequency + Intent = Healing”. By this I mean that the actual sound that manifests coupled with the consciousness that is encoded upon the sound creates the ultimate effect of the sound. I also included another formula in the book: “Vocalization + Visualization = Manifestation” which pretty much echoed this same concept in a slightly different way. In my latest book THE 7 SECRETS OF SOUND HEALING , I have created yet another formula—one which again is very similar to the other two and seems to encompass even more. It is this: “Sound + Belief = Outcome”.
As those familiar with my work know, the original “Frequency + Intent = Healing” formula came to me while trying to deal with a collection of papers that stacked a foot high. These papers were different systems I’d been collecting for several years from scientists, spiritual teachers, musicians, sound therapists and just about anyone else imaginable who had been working with using frequencies for healing. The relationship between sound and light has always been fascinating. Many believe there is a one to one relationship between them. Many believe there is not. Some believe sound and light are the same thing. Others believe they are very different. This current blog is dedicated to this subject. After this initial writing, I will contribute other thoughts along with you.
The relationship between light and sound is most intriguing because both are measured as frequencies in cycles per second. Sound is measured from the ten’s to the ten of thousand’s of cycles per second. Light manifests as billions of cycles per second. Therefore, one way of viewing the relationship between sound and light is to assume that light is speeded up sound, or conversely, that sound is slowed down light. Read more
When I first started in this field, there were two mediums of playback-record albums (lps) and cassettes. No, excuse me-there was another medium that went the way of the dinosaur in less time than you could say diplodocus, and that was the 8 track tape. But regardless, albums and cassettes were both analog. That was about 1980. Sometime towards the end of the 80’s, digital recordings began to manifest-first as digital lps and then as compact discs. The digital controversy in the sound healing community began about then-were digital recordings as healing and therapeutic as analog recordings? Read more
