| Description: | My "healing" work derives from the Spirit in Nature. I recently let go of everything in my place of Portland, Maine, US, to take a winter's Quest in Pembrokeshire Wales. There, I spent my days on Carn Ingli (Angel Mountain). One sunny day during my walk, the wind dropped and a cloud descended, removing all but 12 or so feet of visibility. Without bearings, I could only sense my way, following sheep paths through the wet heather and gorse. The once-friendly Iron Age fortresses loomed as dark ghosts through the mist. From the expansive views of the Preselli Hills, and St. Brigid's Bay, I was enclosed in a still, grey, eerie world. 'Of course my steps will eventually lead me back to the main path', and I was thinking I was close, when I stumbled on what I now call the Lady Mound–a circular 4-foot mound of stone, turf and moss headed by a 10-foot pyramidal stone split down the middle as to represent the Feminine in/of Earth. Awe is too small a word for what I felt. As the cloud opened to the sun again, I looked to the sky and, on the mountain above, "saw" the ghosts of women running toward the circle with arms raised (as if in gladness for its rediscovery). I supposed none of this could have happend, but near the end of my winter, when I had immersed myself enough in the walking and praising of this wondrously beautiful landscape. Of course, it was there that I spent my few last weeks, by day and even by night during the moon's eclipse, singing and meditating…… Once returned, and during a sound healing session, I understood, that my intuitive "healing" sound moves peoples' souls due to the gift of Nature and the Lady Mound. |
